The Convention (Reg. No. 0009) secures, at the international level, the right and obligation of participating States to respect, preserve, research, protect and popularize non-material cultural heritage.
The Convention defines the terms "non-material cultural heritage", goals and bodies of the Convention, functions and methods of work of the International Committee on Protection of Non-Material Cultural Heritage, terms and forms of providing international assistance in the said field.
